I see you have two different stamps, 23-9 and 23-6. Can you confirm if these parts are used in the same window? How many balances are you looking to replace?

Hi there- these parts were being used in the same window, and even though the window was brand new, it broke. I'm thinking the different parts may have been the reason why. I'm hoping that the 23-6 is enough to support the weight of the window (33lbs) but if they both need to be replaced, that's what I will do.

Thank you for getting back to us! The original stamp that's rubbed off looks like it says 23-9. A pair of balances with this stamp would carry a sash weighing 29 to 31.99 pounds, so this stamp should be okay for the window. A pair of 23-6 balances is rated for a sash weighing 24 to 28.99 pounds, which would be too weak for the window sash.
We always recommend replacing balances in pairs. Pairing a new balance with an old one would only cause the new hardware to wear out much faster. With that said, I'm going to email you a purchase link for (2) 23-9 balances that you can use to place an order on our website. Please note that there is a 5-6 week lead time.
