Milgard window balancer replacement

Question

I have identified the series 380 (19-005 top & 15-005 1" bottom) with option 2540 as the replacement part. However, the metal channel measures 26 5/8 inches. Markings on the part are 26 4, BSI and PR. What is the part length needed? I believe the 26 4 may reference a 27" channel with the weight up to 25 pounds. Window weight is 23 pounds.

We are in the process of selling our house and the balancer just crapped out. Window is now in place without balancers.

Hello,

I agree that is you have Series 380 channel balances in your windows, a (26 4) stamp would normally indicate a 27" balance with a 2640 spring strength option. That being said, you could also have something unique. If you'd like to confirm, feel free to send us a photo of an undamaged balance removed from the window. Thank you!
