Milgard window replacement parts

Home Owner from Tualatin, OR

Greetings Kara,

We spoke on the phone this morning (7/24). Attached should be some photos of what I have for the channel balancer. I did find 2-3 pieces of plastic that I thought were the shoe, but maybe they are the top piece?

The window is a Milgard double-hung window that measures approximately 34" x 58" and is date stamped 1986. It has been loose in the frame since I purchased the home 4 years ago, and became much looser about 1 month ago. When I finally took it apart it only has one balancer, the other is missing. The one balancer left must have finally broken.

The balancer is stamped 2640. I tried to include a close-up of the plastic piece still attached (shoe?). I have photos of the broken pieces as well. There is a third rectangular piece of plastic that has a small stamp on it RCD035 - the back is stamped 45170-6 or 4S170-6. I don't even know if that is part of the window!

If you need different views/angles, or if there is any additional information that might be helpful, do let me know! It only wanted me to upload 5 photos, so I sent what it would let me. Thank you so much for your help,

Lea

Hello again,

Your Milgard window looks like it is using our S390-27 balance. The spring weight will be 2640. The broken pieces you show look like parts of the top balance fitting. We would like you to check your top sash nylon guides. Please remove the sash and take a photo of them. See our media guide on "How to replace a top sash guide" for more information. Thank you!
