the symptom is the left window balance somehow got outta the slot on the sash. both balances appear to be smooth in sliding up and down, but i don't trust that, based on videos.

Hello there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We can help supply this balance but it will have to be a custom order due to its configuration. The pulley wheel is built into the bottom fitting itself and this balance features an extended cord travel as well as a metal channel length of 25-5/8" which is what makes it custom.

What I will do now is email you a purchase link and price quote for 2 balances that you can use to place an order on our website. Please note, there is a 5-6 business week lead time.

thank you for your prompt reply. looking at how expensive the custom balances are, which likely will need shipping fees, and the fact that likely ALL my windows are like this, do you have an alternative STANDARD non custom balance which outta work just fine and is worth taking a gamble on?

No stock balance can replace this type of hardware, unfortunately. The issue when trying to use a stock balance to replace this is that if you were to use a 25" version, both the metal channel and cord would be too short and the sash wouldn't be able to close. Meanwhile, a 26" would be too long, and you'd run into the same issue.
