Mirror bifold door spring thing with plastic cap

Question

Help! Nothing on your site looks exactly like this part from my bedroom closet. I've lived here over 13 years and it was taped like this before I moved in, but it's broken beyond a tape fix. (Condo was built in 1981 and these are original).  The door won't stay in the track and flys open and is basically open all the time and completely on the way.
