Missing Part for Milgard Sliding Door Handle

Hello, I have a Milgard sliding door: series 5621/5631; SGD-C30-96 x 96.
Someone managed to break the door handle. I disassembled it and am looking for the part shown in red (circled on your product photos) that inserts into the square opening (also circled in red with an arrow).

What is the name of the long metal rod that engages the handle? Is it possible to just buy that one metal piece, or does the whole door handle need to be replaced?
