Missing lock on sliding door.

The sliding door has the handle. The locking mechanism on the stationary door is missing.

Hello! Based on your photos, it looks like you're missing the keeper. This is a metal plate that gives the mortise hook something to latch onto.

In your case, there are a few different possible keepers that could go in that empty space. It's tough to say for sure. The only thing I can say with confidence is that your mortise is compatible with three different size keepers: the 89-020, 89-021, and 89-021D. Look these over and see which one you think would be the best part for the job.
