Could you tell me if the vertical latch mortise locks Product Code: 82-223, They are locked in the vertical position , in the un-locked position is the key-way perfectly Horizontal ?

Yes, the 82-223 key way is horizontal in the unlocked position and vertical while in the locked position. If you are not sure, send us some photos of your hardware for us to look at. We would like to see your mortise lock removed from the door in both the locked and unlocked position.
