Hi,
I purchased a Mortise Lock with a pocket template #82-229. The lock looks identical to the one I'm replacing but just isn't the same. It's not behaving the same when I install it. I remember years ago I had a contractor replace the lock and the first one he got looked identical but again wasn't the same and he switched it out. Do you have something that looks the same as 82-229 ?

Can you show me a couple pictures of your original mortise lock? Seeing it side-by-side with the 82-229 that you purchased would be a huge help.

You also may be able to swap out the new lock with your old faceplate.
