Mortise Lock Pella #40-191

A handy person from 23231 says:
I received a replacement mortise today. It appeared to be the correct part. The deadbolt was not operating at first, but then it was stuck in the door in the extended position. Finally found out how to remove the mortise. Could this part be related to my problem? I do not know where it was at. The motise sticks and does not reliably operate. Any ideas?
Thanks,

I'm afraid I don't recognize the part in your picture. I'm not sure what role it has to play in your issue, if any.

Regarding the 40-191 not working, can you confirm that it's getting stuck even when it's not in the door? Remove it entirely and try to manually throw it with a screwdriver. If it's still getting stuck then it may have broken. If it works fine then there's another issue at work. We can cross that bridge when we get there.
