Mortise lock identification

Question

I dropped the Mortise lock into the sliding glass door by mistake. I have ordered different locks and none seem to work with the door handle I have. Maybe I have the wrong door handle? Either way, a heavy duty magnet hasn't worked and I'm not sure how to take the door off the sliding frame to shake/shimmy to lock to the opening.

Unfortunately, once a mortise falls in the door, it's there for good. You're not getting it out unless you tear the door apart.

In regards to what replacement you need, that's going to be very difficult to determine. Looking at your last photo, I see you're holding one. Is this a replacement you tried? If so, why didn't it work? Was it a size issue?

I'd also like some general dimensions. the distance between the two installation holes, as well as the size of the main mortise opening, would be a lot of help.
