Mortise lock replacement

Home Owner from Piscataway, NJ

I need a replacement lock for my sliding glass door. I am 90% sure it is Anderson ( can't find any markings on it ) since the builders put in Anderson Windows 20 years ago when they built the house. I would send you a photo but it slid down into the door frame when was trying to remove it. Can you suggest a replacement lock?

The screw holes are 3 & 11/16ths C/C.I purchased the 82-218 but the lock did not fit the opening; slightly too tall -- see attached photo. I'd like to return it and try another if you have one that might fit. Please let me know.

I wish I could show you a pic of the existing lock, however, when I attempted to remove it, it fell down to the bottom of the door frame and I haven't figured out how to get it out of there without removing the entire door. If you have an idea, let me know.

Hello! I do have an idea of what can work, but you already purchased it. I'm convinced our 82-218 is the lock you need. These are designed to be a little bigger than the hole so that they snap in. This is to prevent them from accidentally falling in. You can install it just by putting it in at a kind of angle. See our video below, that should clear things up.
