Mortise needs replacement on a sliding glass doorwall

A home owner from Lakewood Ranch, Fl says:

Hi,

I was told by service repairman Mark of EZ-Slider company who came by today and looked at my sliding glass door windows that my mortise needs replacement. I am contacting your company because ESP of FLA was an identifying plastic part on the sliding glass door walls.

However, I am unable to remove the mortise from the doorwall. The screw may be stripped. Do I need a strong magnet?

Please advise if you can help me with a replacement part.

Thank you

Best regards,

Robert

Hello,

Take a look at our 82-218 mortise lock and the video below that demonstrates the removal process. If the screw is stripped, you may want to try soaking it in wd-40 before attempting to remove it. Thank you!
