Mounting hole spacing problem

A handy person from Kentucky says:

Are there any latches with 1 3/8" spacing for the mounting holes?

I recently purchased a latch from Swisco that would work great as a replacement except that I found the mounting holes actually to be 1 3/8" on my original latch. The house dates back to 1939.

I guess I mismeasured.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

1939 is pretty old, so there's a good chance an exact match for your old lock isn't going to be found anywhere. That said, our 90-054 happens to have a 1-3/8" hole spacing and is a similar style. However you also need to check to ensure that the offset is the same. Review its dimensions below and see what you think.
