My window will not open. Is there away of removing the above from the inside? It seems the sliding piece on the window is stuck in the locked position. When I move the handle there is no resistance.

I'm afraid there's no easy way to remove a casement window lock once it's stuck in the locked position. You might be able to drill out where the screw is on the handle. That might release the lock, but I can't be sure. In my experience, your only hope is to find a way to cut the lock from the window, which is not a small project by any means. I recommend seeking the help of a local professional to come out and do the project for you.

Your cast lever might be broken. Just lift the handle and insert a screwdriver and try to pry it down.

It happened to me. And it worked all the time without any problem.

Look at the picture attached. You will need to insert a screw diver in betwee these 2 posts on a metal rail.
