The OC length between the holes on the Arm extension on mine is 2 and seven sixteenths rather than 2 and a quarter inch.
Would this still work?

The main thing to keep in mind when replacing awning operators is to make sure the installation holes in the casing match up. Your link arm is a little longer, but not by much, and this type of operator has a certain amount of travel that usually makes up the difference in arm length.
