My balance doesn't stay with the window

Home Owner from Minnesota
I've ordered from you before, choosing the S350 as a best guess as to what I took out. However, they sometimes don't stay with the window on the way up (window goes up but balance hangs down approximately 1 inch or so). Not sure if I have a weight issue or if I have the wrong design. I do know I ordered the same weight as what I took out. Looking at them again, I'm noticing the bottom is different.

What is the correct model? Nothing you have available seems to have the identical bottom piece. Also, should I be looking at a different weight considering the problem I'm having with the replacements I purchased before?

Thanks.

Many thanks for your correspondence. There are a few factors here that could affect the balance's performance in your window. Firstly, what is the 'depth' of your balance's bottom shoe? The 'depth' is the distance between the 'heel' and 'toe' of the shoe. Second, what is the length of your original balance's metal channel, and what stamp code does it have? Similarly, what length and stamp option did you select for the Series 350? Finally, could you tell us the height of the visible glass in the window sash that you are using these balances for? From there, we'll try and identify any further issues. Many thanks.

Heel to toe is 1 7/32. Length of metal channel depends on what window we are talking about. The channel of what I replaced before was 29 with stamp code 2820. The 350 I ordered was therefore 29 long with stamp code 2820. Glass is 27 3/4. I've attached additional photos of how the 350s I ordered before sit within the window frames.

Thank you! 1-7/32" is very large. I'm thinking our 15-003 may be what you want, which has a heel-to-toe depth of 1-3/16". It also has a more dramatic "slope" in the shape, similar to your original. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean anything important, but I think it's worth noting in this case.

We can custom make a Series 350 but with the bottom shoe swapped out for our 15-003. Is that something you'd like us to do? If so, I'll need to know how many of each balance you need.

Which brings me to another question: you implied that you have two different sized windows, but when you broke it down you described the same balance twice: 29" long with a 2820 stamp. Was that a typo?

Once I've confirmed the size, stamp, and quantity of every balance you need, I can email you custom order links and a price quote for each one.

Thanks for the response. To clarify, the reason why I mentioned two different sizes is because I need balances for a few windows in the house but wanted to make sure I ordered the right ones due to the issue I'm having with another window of different size (the one where the balance doesn't stay with the window).

All my windows are of various sizes but have the same channel design. Let me regroup and determine what I need because they would all potentially need the custom build.
