My two Slanley mirrored doors are Serial No. 50214041

Home Owner from Ballwin, MO

I am looking for a replacement to upper roller assembly. I have only one roller that has a 1/4 in. piece of the roller wheel missing. The door sliding, but makes a clunking sound when it rolls.

I the whole assembly has a nylon piece that attaches to back of door. If the piece is not too expensive, I might replace all four assemblies.

I have not taken door out of frame until I know that I have a replacement part in hand.

Thank you, Mike

Hi, Mike.

I'm afraid the serial number you gave wasn't a match to anything in our database. We'd be happy to help but we'll need to see your roller removed from your door to compare to our inventory. That'll help us narrow down your options.

Thank you!

Emily,

Thank you for you attention to this matter. I am sending you a photo of the Serial Number sticker from the back of the doors.

Also, I have been avoiding the task of removing the doors from the frame in order to access the problem upper roller mechanism. However, I took a picture of that to send to you.

The jpg file 2927 is the serial number sticker.

The jpg file 2934 is the invalid roller assembly still fastened to the inside of the door. If you need me to fully remove the assmebly, I had the idea of leaving the doors in place and temporarily detaching the rollers. Since the doors are resting on the roller wheels at the botton of the doors, I thought I could temporarily remove one of the top assemblies. Does this sounds feasible if I have to do the deed?

Hey, Mike.

As long as you can remove the roller assembly and show us, that will help us identify what kind of roller you have.

Thank you so much!

Emily,

I finally got around to removing the crippled roller assembly and am sending you four jpg files. The embossed SN on the nylon piece is 17-4116. The U.S. patent no. is 5-549-783.

From the photos, you will see the one broken roller wheel. It also looks like the wheels can be removed by pinching the nylon retainer and replace each wheel to fix the problem. If that can be done, I would order 8 roller wheels to replace on all four nylon assemblies. Otherwise, I would purchase four assemblies to avoid this problem for the future.

Thank you for your attention to this matter,

Mike

Oops,

I forgot to add photos, I think.

Thank you for the additional pictures and information, Mike! This helps a lot.

This looks like a portion of our 23-222C assembly, or at least an older version of it. We don't sell just the wheels by themselves, unfortunately, we can only sell the assembly. Look over our dimensions and see what you think.

Emily,

Part 23-222C looks like it will solve my problem. Do I check out from the option on the top of this email by creating an account?

Thanks for all of your help.
