My window valence on my original Alenco window on my house came loose and I need a replacement valence. The window will not stay up on its own any longer. Any advice on part to replace and how to reinstall new one. Do I need to get a pair or just one?

Thanks for your post! This window balance is a match for the S395-28 channel balance. Our 2740 stamp will support a sash weighing 19 to 26lbs.
It is advised to replace both balances at the same time to ensure the older one does not wear out the replacement. For instructions on removing/installing the balances, please see the tutorial below. There are a few others below this thread, as well.
