For transparency, the stamp tells us how strong the spring is. This is a vitally important part of how a balance functions, so without knowing what kind of strength calibration we're dealing with, we can't move forward.

As there is no stamp, your only other option is to weigh your sash on a scale and tell us what weight you get. Please be as precise as possible; estimations will not suffice. We need the weight down to the ounce.

This is ordinarily an easy step, since all you have to do is check the stamp. But in your case you'll have to do things the hard way. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but this step cannot be skipped.
