Need (1) Pair of Window Balances for MI (Metal Industries)Bathroom Window 21 inches wide lower window

Quick Learner from Morganville, NJ

Attn-Swissco,

I need to replace 2 window balances in my single MI bathroom window that is 21 inches in width and approx. 17 1/2 inches in height for the lower window. I have provided a order sheet from the regular windows that I replaced in 2019 from the MI 8500 series which were slightly bigger than the current bathroom window from MI that I need to replace the 2 window balances. Please see pictures of window and order form from 2019 for the larger 8500 series windows that I replaced.

Thanks,

Scott

Thanks for reaching out to us. Your balance style isn't made anymore, but we can still help. We sell the individual components of a more modern version of what you have here. See our 15-180 pivot shoe, 15-186 clip, 15-182 bushing, and Series 190 spring.

Let me know if you had any questions!

Tom,

Thanks for your note and update. So, I would need Qty 2 of the parts from above to replace what I have in the current window?

So would that be; See our 15-180 pivot shoe, 15-186 clip, 15-182 bushing, and Series 190 spring.

Is there a way to pre-assembly these components so that they are ready to be inserted in the window balance track?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Scott

Hey, Scott. I'm afraid we can't preassemble these for you before shipment. You will have to do that upon receipt of these products.

I am sorry for any inconvenience that may cauase.

Assuming that you're replacing both sides, which you should, then you would want 2 of each product, yes. Both sides should be completely identical.

Tom,

I have ordered and received all of the parts that were recommended above. Qty 2 for each side of my window to replace the balances. Do you have a video of how these parts are assembled to create the balance on each side of the window track. I am not sure how the spring gets attached to the coil balance shoe and then where do the bushing and clip go. Do all of these go together to form one part or are they separated within the track. Just not sure how to assemble all of the parts and components to form the balance. Please advise or provide a video for assembly of the (4) parts. Thanks again, Scott

We unfortunately don't have a video on this exact assembly, but the guide below may be helpful. The coil balance featured here is different but the general principles are exactly the same.

To summarize, the coil springs screw to the pivot shoe. You usually want to screw both springs to the same hole on the same side of the balance. Once the springs are screwed to the shoe, put them in the track and position them where they would install. You can then screw the clip and bushing in place where the old ones went, using the same exact screws.
