Thanks for posting, Lynn. We can supply this balance but it will have to be a custom order due to its configuration. Before we go any further, can you confirm the length of the metal channel? It shouldn't end on a full inch, but rather a 5/8". Can you also tell me what the stamp reads? Finally, how many of these did you need?

I'm afraid they don't make these balances in 13". I don't think that measurement is accurate. If it is, then it's not something we can supply. Can you triple check?

I can also see in your first batch of photos that the last two digits of the stamp are "6" and "4," which does not indicate a 13" long metal channel. Depending on what the first digit is, it could be 16-5/8" long, 26-5/8" long, or 36-5/8" long. That's one of the reasons I wanted a photo of the stamp itself.

Hi, Tom,

The original channel balance for my bathroom window has been lost for a long time. I can show you our another bedroom window channel balance stamps.

This bedroom metal channel itself has 26 4 stamped on the back as well as the letters B.S.I. and RA on it. The bottom shoe we discussed previously also has a light stamping that reads "PAT 659826"

But my bathroom window is smaller than this one ( it's 14" of window and 13" inside of frame. ) . That's why I figured out the metal channel should be 13" long.

Okay, I understand now. I didn't realize your old balance was missing. That changes things.

So, the size of the balance is not determined like what you gave. It's a lot more involved than that. As I mentioned, these are sized in a very specific way and we'll have to do some math to figure it out. Before we go any further, I need you to tell me the height of the visible glass of the sash these balances support. I'd also like you to confirm that it's the bottom sash, not the top.

Thank you, Tom!

Like what I measured in previous post, the height of outside of bottom of sash is 14" and inside is 13". See below attached pictures. Thanks! Btw, how much is gonna be for this pair of balances? Thanks!

Looking at your photos, the visible glass is not 13". The 13" mark is landing in the middle of the sash frame in each of your photos. It looks like it's higher than 12" but less than 13". I just can't tell the precise measurement.

To reiterate, I need the height of the visible glass, not the overall height of the sash. Just measure the glass that you can see.

As for price, I have no idea what that will be. It's too early for that. I need to figure out what you have first.

Thank you! According to our calculations, for a 10-1/2" tall glass, you want to use a 13-5/8" long balance. Based on your sash weight, we would also use a 13-2 stamp option. I will email you an order link and price quote now for two of these.

Concerning the top sash guide, your original isn't made anymore but you can use our 18-009. The catch is that you need to trim off the three edges at the top of the guide where they stick out. I've done this myself and I find it works well.
