Need Balance

Question

I am looking for balances that look like the springs in old screen doors. They are in compression jamb single hung windows. The window sizes are 32" x 66", and the spring balances are 27" or 28" in length. If you need a picture of the balance, I will send it to you.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, this is not a balance style that we'll be able to supply. This type of spring is built into the jamb liner; in other words, the jamb liner itself is the balance. That's what you'll have to replace.

My recommendation is to get in touch with the original manufacturer of the window. If this is a wood window, you could additionally get in touch with a local mill work. They could set you up with new jamb liners entirely.
