Need Balance Shoe : SWISCO.com

Good morning

I have finally gotten around to installing these spring shoes (15-236), but have found they are too wide. They appear to be the right shape and dimension except they need to be about 1" wide not 1.25.

I found the mfg part number if it will help.

253098 or BALSH-7. The mfg is Ply-gem I know these are most likely not returnable, but please advise what the correct item would be so I can order them.Thank you,

Thanks for writing in! Your T-Lock balance shoe looks more like the 15-194 1" T-Lock Shoe. To confirm that this is the correct replacement, carefully look over the dimensions below. Compare them to you existing shoe.

I tried the 15-194, it is the right width, but will to fit in the channel balance. The part I need is identical to 15-236 in every way except the width. It needs to be 1" wide.

Even the part numbers imprinted on 15-236 match the t-locks that came with the window.

Thanks for confirming. It sounds like the balance you have is not compatible with our shoe. You likely have a balance with a grove in the bottom of it. Unfortunately, ours are manufactured a bit differently. With that said, you'll need to replace the balances. You would need to keep the 15-194 shoes to swap out the shoes that come assembled on the channel.
