Need Caldwell balance replacement...

Quick Learner from Oregon

As noted in photo (W2), part is stamped: 10 4 KS Caldwell. Caldwell CSS, John , suggests it is one of Caldwell's Series 86 10-4. Thanks. - Scott

Hi there, Scott.

The balance shown here in your photos looks to be either the S380-11 or S385-11. The depth of the bottom fitting as shown in the image below will be the deciding factor. I also recommend the 1040 strength option based on your old stamp.

Thanks for the prompt reply Emily. The measurement came out at 1 and 3/32 inches. I've ordered the replacement balances. - Scott

Hi again Emily. Have just watched the how-to videos. Very helpful. It occurred to me to take a length measurement to validate your assumption. Overall balance length is 12 inches. See photo. If that impacts my order, could you please adjust as needed on your end? Thanks. - Scott

When determining the length, you want to measure only the metal channel. The metal channel for your balance should be 11". Feel free to use the image below as a reference.
