Metal shell (only) measures 28 7/16"....Width is 9/16"..... A number 2 in a circle on the white plastic tip.... No marks on the other side
black tip....

Hello there!
Thank you for reaching out to us. This looks like either the Series 351 or Series 390 channel balance, depending on the depth of the bottom fitting. You'll have to measure as shown below to determine the best match.
However, it is very odd that the metal channel measures 28-7/16" long. It should measure on the full inch. Can you triple-check that for us, just to be safe? Can you also show us a photo of the stamp printed on the metal channel?

Yup.... The metal (only) shell measures 28 7/16" long.. Overall (with plastic pieces) measures
29 3/8"....Shoe width is 1 1/16"
I just need to know how to install the channel balance into the loose window unit to install into the frame..How do you folks do it??? Put both balances on and somehow keep onto the window and then wedge the window into the frame???Do you have to tape the balance(s) onto the window before trying to insert into the window frame....?????
Any help would be appreciated.....

That's very odd. We can only supply full inch lengths, unfortunately. As for how to install the balances, I recommend watching the video below which will detail the replacement process.
