Need Flush Mount Patio Door Lock for 2" Thick Door

Contractor from Avon, CT

No part numbers or brand found. Tried to use Wright Products V1195 which looks perfect, except that it is for 1" to 1 1/4" thick door. 6 1/2" on center mounting holes work with the existing handle. (No new handle needed.) The hook bolt just will not reach the cutouts on the edge of the door. Prefer Black -- Aluminum also O.K. No outside key is necessary. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP! I believe I have ordered from you before, but I'm not sure. -- Dennis

Thanks for posting, Dennis. I'm instantly reminded of our 82-002, but this is meant to work on doors that are 1" to 1-1/8" thick. You mentioned that the handle you bought was meant for 1" to 1-1/4" thick doors, and that this was not sufficient. Can you tell me what the thickness of your door is?

Oh jeeze, I'm sorry. I was so preoccupied with your pictures that I totally missed the title.

I was kind of hoping your door was on the skinny side, but 2" is a tough one. That's pretty thick for this kind of door. They just don't make this style anymore, so your options are limited. The only solution we've been able to find in the past is to use a modern handle, like the one you already bought, but to reuse your old screws, hook, and cylinder.

If the hook or cylinder are broken, however, I'm not sure what you can do. Your best bet would be to contact a local mom and pop type hardware store who has older stock lying around.

That?s two inches. Phone changed inch symbol to a question mark. THANKS!
