Need Replacement Handle

Hello

I'm looking for a replacement handle for my patio slider. The (mortise) lock isn't working and a locksmith told me I need a whole new door because the door I have is too old to find a new handle.

Can you help???

Hi Faith. There's certainly options to replace this keyed handle set; the 82-086 comes to mind right away. The mortise lock though is a bit trickier. Can you get the door open at all? That's the only way to remove the mortise lock to show it to us. If not, this could get pretty hairy, but there may be some options. Let us know.

Hi Thanks for your reply. Yes, I can open the door ? but the problem is that if I open it to show you the interior, I won't be able to re-lock it afterwards. It took a locksmith about 1/2 hour to get it locked on Monday. At that time, the locksmith told me to replace the door. That's a big number vs replacing the handle, which is why I could really use your help to determine if a replacement is doable. Please advise.

Ah, I see. Without seeing your mortise lock, we will not be able to provide a definitive recommendation on a replacement. A few different mortise locks can be used with the 82-086. Start off with taking a look at our 82-218, 82-226, and 82-227 mortise locks. Since only you can see the mortise lock, you will need to compare your part with ours to see which if these would make the best match.
