Need a replacement Balancer

My window is a Series 810 Tilt Single hung dual panes made by Phillips. It is my understanding they went out of business in 2009.

I saw no markings on the metal balancer, the metal balancer is 30 inches long.

Please advise if you can help or if you need more info.

Thank you

Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks for posting! There is a chance we may be able to supply you with a replacement for the channel balances you have but I'll need to see an undamaged balance, removed from the window, to confirm.

It is important to see the attachment on the bottom of the balance to determine the correct replacement. Since the balance does not have any stamps/markings on the metal, you'll need to obtain the exact weight of the sash.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I removed the window and took photos of the various parts. The holder is cam operated device. You can see that the window has a fixed peg which slides into the cam device.

Please advise if you have something that works for this.

Thank you
Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the photos. I was able to narrow down the possible replacements for your balance but I'll still need to see the shoe removed from the window channel. The view of it is obstructed because it is still installed in the window, so it is difficult to make out the exact replacement shoe you need. You'll also need to have it removed to confirm the width.

I'll also still need to know the length of the metal channel as well as the exact weight of your sash. The sash weight is what we'd need to use to be able to determine the stamp since your balance does not have markings.

Thank you for your quick reply.

Sash weighs 19 lbs
I did find the stamp said 30B it was faint.

Also the width of the cam mechanism is .98 inches

Hopefully you have a solution.

thank you

Hi Mark,

Thanks for providing the additional photos. Your balances can be replaced with the S795-30 channel balance with a 30B stamp option. Your T-lock shoe can be replaced with the 15-194. It has a different design and is made with an open cam but it should still work well for your repairs.
