Unfortunately, we cannot make a determination about the part you purchased without seeing the new part as well as knowing the distances between screw holes for both your current door and the new handle set.

If you can provide these for us, we may be able to better answer your question.

Dear Customer Service, I'm needing to replace a latch. & handle on a 1995 storm door. I went to Home Depot, & bought a Wright Bayfield Surface Latch. But, I don't know if it will work or not. Can you tell me if the one I bought will work or not. Or, do I need to special order from you. Thanks, Bruce.

Michael, The distance between the screw holes is 1 3/4 inches. My old door handle is shorter, than the new one I bought. And, has a screw on the outside at bottom of the handle plate. The distance from these holes is 5 9/16 inches. Here is a picture of my old handle & latch, beside my new one.

Thanks for getting back to us! I don't think we can get you this exact handle set, but consider our 40-177. This is a very versatile storm door lock set that I've personally installed on a wide variety of doors. I feel pretty confident that it will work on yours, too. Look it over and let me know what you think.
