Need exact replacement for recessed sliding door latch (photos attached)

Handy Person from Las Vegas Nevada USA

I need help identifying an exact replacement part for my entrance sliding/security door latch. I attached two photos.

The small black wedge-shaped latch piece broke. It is spring-loaded and slides left/right inside the recessed housing. The housing has a finger pull opening. The spring normally pushes the latch outward into a hole in the door frame to keep the sliding door locked.

I am looking for the exact replacement part, or the complete latch assembly if the small wedge piece is not sold separately.

Please let me know the matching part number and how to order it.

Thank you.

The part you're looking for is a storm window latch. Unfortunately I don't recognize this design, so I can say with confidence that we can't supply an exact match.

If you were interested in an alternative, then I'd be happy to research it further. However I need the following information:

  • A photo of the latch removed from the window and in undamaged condition
  • Precise written dimensions, especially of the thickness, width, and depth.

Please note that all dimensions must be written out in your response. A photo of a tape measure will not be sufficient.
