Need help identifying Window balance

Home Owner from CO

Hi,

I need to replace window balance for a vinyl window that has hung. It's a block and tackle style 33" long. It has a Caldwell 24 4 LP stamp on it. It appears to be a 1/2" width. best I can guess it's a 380 series balance but I'm not sure. Both the top and bottom guides have wings on them. Please see the attached photos.

If you have questions or need to contact me you can do so

Thank you for your help,

Bill

Hi Bill. This certainly looks like either a Series 380 or Series 385 Channel Balance. The only difference between these two types of balances is the 'depth' of their bottom nylon shoe, so compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best. I'm a little confused by your length and stamp code: it would be really weird for a balance that's 33" long to have a stamp code of 24 4! Could you confirm the length of the metal channel, not including the nylon fittings at either end? And can you confirm the stamp code? Many thanks.

Hi Bob,

I confirmed the length of the metal channel by itself is 33" and I believe it is a 380 style. The depth of the bottom shoe is 1" not 1 3/32". The stamp is 32 4 LP Caldwell. That was my mistake. See new attached photo.

Hi Bill, thanks for getting back to me. Sounds good to me! In that case, you'll need the S380-33. Your stamp code of 32 4 conforms to our stamp option of 3240. Let us know if you have any other questions.
