Need help identifying channel balance for my windows

Home Owner from San Marcos, CA
Hello,

I need to replace the channel balance on one of my windows. I believe from looking around on the site, i have identified the correct part as the S380-33 (3250). The metal piece has a 3250 engraved on it. The metal piece is 33" long and about a .5" wide. Please let me know if this is the correct part based on the pictures, or if you need any more information let me know.

Thanks in advance for the help!

If that shoe is 1" in depth, then yes, this would be S380-33. The way to be sure that you need 3250 is to weigh your window sash, which should weigh between 28 and 32 pounds.

I measured the foot and it is 1" definitely. The thing I am confused about it is the sash balance I pulled out of the window was 3250 for sure it says on it. But I weighed the window and it's about 39-40 pounds, well over the range you mentioned. What is the correct number for this weight? I am wondering if this is the reason these balances went out as badly as they did because they are not for the right weight.

If that weight is correct, it would be 3270! That could definitely explain why your balances failed. Sometimes installers and repair people run out of the proper option and just use the strongest one they can find.
