Need help identifying hardware

Quick Learner from Tennessee
I have several windows that the plastic casing exploded on and I need to replace these parts. I don't have any in tact on my longer skinny windows so I can't measure the length of the tube or the diameter of the tube (they all exploded). The tip appears to be yellow . Can you help me identify the parts I need?

Hello there!

Thank you for waiting during this busy season. I'm afraid we can't be sure of the Series you may need without knowing the diameter of the outer tube. You may have the 5/8" thick S600-34 with the red tip option. A pair of the S600-34 balances with the red tip can support a sash weighing 12 to 30 pounds so you'll want to confirm the sash weight. We also suggest the 75-006 tool to help with attaching the spiral end to the pivot shoe. Take a look at the specifications and see what you think.

Thank you for your help. I think the original tube was closer to 3/8th , would this be the series 900? I Weighed the sashes and they are 13.2 lbs. If i purchase the wrong size, are purchases returnable? The charging tool is out of stock. Is there another tool I can get in place of the one you carry? I see many other spiral balace charging tools online that look similar.

Yes, if the tube was 3/8" in diameter you'd want the Series 900. Since the sash is 13.2 pounds, you can use the white tip color option. A pair of S900-34 balances with this color option will support a sash weighing 7 to 22 pounds. Since the tool is out of stock, you may be able to use needle nose pliers. You would need to take extra caution and make sure you have a firm grip on the balance for install. We always recommend wearing safety glasses since these balances have tension.

You can also return the balances if they don't pan out. Our return policy can be found here

Hey!

On the windows I didn't have any in tact tubes to measure, I guessed and got 31 in. I installed them, then the window wouldn't close. Does this mean I ordered the wrong length? Too short? What length should I get instead. Looks like it's 7 inches from where the end of the spiral is, fully extended from the tube.

You could either return the balances and place an order for the 38" length or, if you'd like a quick fix, you can install the balance tube down seven inches so you can close the window. However, it will reduce raising the sash height.
