Need help identifying replacement parts for my window

I'm trying to repair my old wood framed double hung windows. The windows don't operate smoothly and don't stay in position. I believe I need replacement tracks or tension lines or both, but I don't know which part to order. Can you help me identify the parts needed?

Thanks for posting. It looks like you need what we call channel balances. Channel balances are those metal channels in your window tracks; they are spring-tensioned to help regulate the opening and closing of the window. I'm confident we can help replace yours, but we'll need you to remove them and tell us the length, and show us any attachments, hooks, or fittings at either end of the metal channel. Also show us any stamp on the metal channel. From there we'll do our best to ID what you need.

I was able to get the track out and took some additional pictures. Some of the prices came off of the track. Also, the plastic housing is cracked. Do I need to replace that too? I'm case you can't read it in the picture, the stamp says 21 v HD.

Thanks! The balance in question appears to match our Series 751. Look over its details on its store page in our catalog to confirm.

As for the housing, that's the jamb liner. We unfortunately don't sell these. If yours has to be replaced, then you will need to contact the original maker of the window.
