Need help matching replacement balance

I believe this is called a coil spring balance, but there are different styles of them. I would like to know how I can determine what a proper replacement would beI believe American craftsman makes this window from Home Depot

Hello there. The pivot shoe looks like a 15-180. This works with Series 180 Coil balance springs, sold separately. The mounting bracket is the 16-031. See the diagram below that shows how these components are assembled.

For the replacement coil spring(s) you have to choose a spring weight, which reflects the weight the lone coil can support. That stamp on the shoe suggests you could use the 9 pound S180-09 spring. One of these on each side of the sash would tally 18 pounds of support. Weigh the window sash if you are uncertain. Give us that exact weight and we can calculate what you need.
