older window balances

Quick Learner from Greer
I have this older window in my cabin 34x46. It is a slider and tilts out and the balance is broken but can't seem to find the right replacement. When I took it apart the spring was on top and the cord was attached to the bottom. The 23d is the only markings on track. I will need to replace the balance and the post attached to the window.

Hello,

We'd be happy to look into this for you but we'll need a bit more information to get started. First, please confirm where the post is attached to window and show us a photo. We'll also need to see a photo of the fitting attached to the end of the pulley cord of an undamaged balance. Thank you.

Sorry this is all I have of the window and balance. When I pulled the balance out it completely fell apart, so I hope these pictures help.

Thanks for getting back to us. It looks like you need a new pivot bar but we would need to see an intact version from the other side or an identical window to compare to our inventory.

We would also still need to see the metal clip at the end of the pulley cord, which would attach to the pivot shoe below the balance.

Can you recommend what I would need if I just replaced everything. New balance and new pivot bar? I will just replace both sides of the window. Thank you for your help

Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if any other hardware would work in your window since the manufacturer carefully chooses the parts they used based on various specifications, which we can't account for. Since our company specializes in recommending replacement parts, it is necessary to see intact versions of the original hardware.

I can say that we carry a few similar corner pivots like the 26-150, 26-374, and 26-402 but they have different tips. Take a look at the style and dimensions of our pivots shown below to see if one of them matches an intact pivot from one of your windows.

26-402 is the best resemblance

Great, you're welcome to give it a try and if you run into any problems, our return policy can be found here. With that being said, we would still need to see an intact version of one of the support balances uninstalled, including the clip at the end of the pulley cord.
