Need new balance

Question

The string broke and you say replace the whole thing. The identifying code is 29-4 NN BSI
The metal is 30 inches. Width of metal casing is 1/2 inch. I saw in another post to measure the plastic piece at the pulley end and it is a little over an inch as shown in picture 5. The house was built in 78 but I think the windows are from the eighties.

Thanks for posting. This appears to be an S385-30 Channel Balance, which has a shoe depth of 1-3/32". The other possibility is the S380-30, which has a 1" depth. I agree your shoe seems to be deeper than that, but pictures of measuring tape can be deceiving, so double-check to be certain--see the image below for reference. For a new stamp option select 2940.
