Need new door lock
I've never encountered a hole spacing of 2-7/16" before. You are right in that they look a bit off-centered, now that you mention it, which indicates that someone in the past tried to retrofit something to this door in the past.
That's a bit of a problem. I don't know what your door had originally and I can tell you that we certainly don't have anything with the provided hole spacing. All I can tell you is that your mortise lock is specifically designed to work with handles like our 82-030, all of which have a hole spacing of 3-15/16".
(1) 82-218 : Mortise Lock, Round Face, 3-11/16" and mortise lock does seem to match but spacing doesnt. Which i could drill and make match i think however i didnt realize that it doesnt have keyed lock for outside which is what i need? Do you have somehting that will match this mortise lock but with keyed outside lock? Even if i need to drill holes for mounting? Thanks
You will very likely have to drill new holes. Like I mentioned before, we don't have anything that matches the hole spacing you have now. Without seeing the original handle set, we also cannot research what it may have been.
If you need a keyed exterior handle, you can use the 82-310. This installs perfectly well on the 82-030 handle set that you already purchased.
