Need new spiral balances and pivot blocks.

A quick learner from San Diego, CA says:
This comes from a 30+ year old vinyl double hung window. I can find absolutely NO manufacturer's name anywhere on the windows or frames. All of the windows were installed when I built the house and the spiral balances and pivot blocks are all failing. I need help.

Hello,

We'd be happy to help but we'll need to see the pivot she and balance fully removed from the window. Also, please confirm the width and thickness of the pivot shoe, as well as the diameter of the balance tube. Thank you!

A quick learner from San Diego, CA says:

Good Morning, Casey. OK, the spiral balance tube is `6" long, and about 9/16th" in diameter. I'm having a little trouble removing the pivot shoe, but I hope we can get started with the balance tube.

Thanks,

Geoff

Sure, would recommend starting with the S600-16 spiral balance and comparing the product specification to yours. The white tip options for this balance will support a sash between 4-10 pounds.

Once you're able to remove the pivot shoe, just send over a picture with dimensions and we'd be happy to research that as well. Thank you!

A quick learner from San Diego, CA says:
Sorry, Casey. The spiral tube is 16" long, not 6". It's about 9/16" in diameter. It weighs about 18 pounds. The pivot block pictures are attached. The pivot block is 1 3/16" tall X 1 1/4" wide X 9/16" deep. Three pics of the pivot block and spacer are attached. There's a small spacer block above the pivot block. That spacer block is about 1/2" tall X 1 1/4" wide X 11/16" deep. There! I think I got it!!
Thanks SO much for your help.

In that case, I would recommend the S600-16 with a blue tip option to support a sash between 9-28 pounds.

Unfortunately, we do not carry the spacer but the dimensions of the pivot shoe lead me to believe that you could use our 15-118 as a replacement since it has the same width and thickness, which are critical measurements. Take a look and see what you think.

WOW!! You are REALLY on the ball!!
Please tell your boss for me that you deserve a raise!
Thank you for your help. I think those are the parts I need. And since the house has 24 double hung windows and (not surprisingly) they're all wearing out at the same time, I'll be back in touch. Now all I need to do is to get into my Swisco account.
Thanks,
Geoff
