Need spiral balance to replace a channel balance

Question

The channel balance I ordered and replaced did not fit very well

I need a ribbed style and was unable to get one. The square style doesn't fit well. Too thick and the window scrapes the channel balance and is in a bind.

Original channel balance is 1/2" by 28" and stamped DB L03 28 TGX

Window is vinyl, double paned and measures 46" wide by 29" tall.

I would like to install spiral balance if we can't find a ribbed of proper size

I think your balance will have to be a special order. I suspect it's a 28" long thin ribbed metal channel. Before we can start on anything, can you show me some photos of your original balance? I'd like to see a photo of the top and bottom ends, the stamp, and the hook or clip that installs it in the jamb track.

I don't think a spiral balance will work for you in this capacity, unfortunately.
