Need technical advise: new rollers, please help

Question

though the wheels work relatively well when I clean them and reinstall, they get stuck as soon as I put the door back on the rails b/c the wheels are not secure and therefore the height is lowered. I believe that this is due to the cavity on the bottom door frame (seen on top of the glass in the pic) having a gap between the wheel box and the top of the cavity if that makes sense.

Only thing I could think of is inserting something like a metal shim to keep it from moving so it will function properly. Also, another idea I had was to secure it from the top, but not sure if that would work the way it should. Could it be that there is a part that will fit better into that cavity of the door frame and solve the problem? Please advise, I would hate to have to purchase a new door. I'm extremely handy and can figure out what I need.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I believe your patio door roller housing could just be worn from years of use. Unfortunately, we don't sell an exact match for this roller. However, take a look at the 81-081 roller to see if this would fit your door rail. Take note you will need to switch screw holes making the top hole for your adjustment screw and the bottom hole for the frame screw.

You also mentioned that you might want to "secure the roller housing from the top". With that in mind, take a look at the 81-023 roller (along with the diagram on how to install it) and the 81-002 roller. Both these rollers are installed by removing the bottom patio door rail off of the glass. You will need to use a set of saw horses or lay the door down on a work table. To secure the roller in the bottom door rail you will need to drill and countersink a hole to accept the 33-103. Review the specifications for these parts and see what you think.
