Need to Identify Guide Pin Parts

Home Owner

Hello,

I have a metal bi-fold closet door in a building built in 1974, and I’m looking for replacement guide pins for both the top and bottom. For the top, I’d like to use a guide pin with a spring, and I believe the same would work for the bottom as well.

Could you please advise which guide pins I should use? Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Howard

Hello,

It looks like you have the old style Slimfold bi-fold doors. You should be able to use the new style 21-007 spring-loaded pins. You'll need to remove the old pivot rod clamp, slide out the old pin, and slide in the new spring-loaded pin. The new pin has an outside nylon housing with a hook that fits where the rod clamp was on your original pin. See the related media guides on this page for assistance with this project. Thanks for posting!

This appears to be a pivot rod clamp similar to our 21-154, though it's not identical. We can't guarantee it would be compatible with your original pin, but review the dimensions below and see what you think.
