Need to replace the sash lock on my double hung window

Question

The sash lock on my double hung window broke.  I don't know how to measure for a new one, or even what brand the windows are.  I found some series numbers on the window frame but that is it.  Help!

Your sash lock has a similar appearance to the 90-286 Window Sash Lock. To confirm if this is the correct replacement, you'll need to measurement the distance between the installation holes and the measurement for the backset. Take a look at the diagram below for reference.
