Need to replace these parts in at least one double hung - maybe 2.

Quick Learner from Durango, Colorado

I am not sure what windows I have - but they may be old Anderson windows, per the lady at Marvin Windows.

I have a pair of Series 380: H-R25-47x73 easy tip out double hung windows, one on each side of a 5' fixed window.

The upper sash on one does not stay in place and will slide open now and then.

I am guessing I need to replace the balance tubes (if that is the correct term) on both lower and upper in that window.

Is that correct. And if so, do you have them?

Are there any other things I should know? Can you tell what brand these double hunts are by the tag I sent in the picture?

Thanks,

Marc

Hi Marc, thank you for posting,

If the window sash is not staying up, the issue is the balance. Your window uses a coil balance assembly. Please review the style and dimensions of the 15-180 balance shoe that is compatible with the Series 190 coil springs. Along with the 15-182 bushing and 15-186 balance clip.

The existing coil spring should have a number stamped into the metal that will indicate the weighted coil needed. If not, you will need to obtain the weight of the window sash and divide by the amount of coils use to support the sash.

If you need further assistance with the coil weights, please provide the weight of the sash to move forward. Thank you!
