Needed Window Parts

Quick Learner from Braselton, GA
Hi there - can you pls help me to identify what parts I need for the following? Label on window is attached to identify the window in question but reads series 3700 aama/nwwda 101/i.s. 2-97. The parts I need are the closing/locking mechanism, the piece that holds the string for the window pull in place and the bottom vinyl piece that goes across the bottom on the outside of the window. Thanks so much!

Thanks for posting. I'm afraid that the window label information won't be particularly helpful in identifying what you need. Window hardware is largely generic across brands, and the only way to identify the right replacements is to see each part removed from the window. It sounds like you need to replace your tilt latches, pivot shoe, and glazing bead. The Tilt Latches are the side latches that allow you to tilt the window inward. The Pivot Shoe is what the balance cord attaches to. It has a cam that connects with the bottom of the window sash, enabling the sash to tilt. Finally, the Glazing Bead is the vinyl that helps secure the glass in the sash. To help, we will need the following.

  • For your pivot shoe, we need to see it removed from the window. Measurements of the width and thickness would be helpful.
  • For your glazing bead, we need to see a picture of its 'end profile'.
  • I believe your tilt latches might be either our 26-243 & 26-244, or our 26-390 & 26-391 pair. But you will need to compare the listed dimensions with your old latches to confirm if either pair is the right match.

If you need anything else, please show us pictures of the parts removed from the window. Keep in mind too that if your window is failing to stay open, you likely need to replace the window balances as well (they are spring-loaded mechanisms that are attached to the cord that the pivot shoes connect to). Many thanks.
