New Awning Window Operator

Quick Learner from Michigan
Hi, I am looking to replace an old Truth operator. The current operator tip to tip measures 22" closed. The old one was missing a handle so we fabricated one to make. It is on an Anderson awning Window.
As you can see by a picture of the side view I have ample space to replace it with the 39-070. The 390070 is 23 1/4 " tip to tip. The measurements between the to pulls is 7 5/8", so that matches the 39-070. Anything else I should be oncerned with..? Please advise. Thanks John

Hey, John. You have a very old operator. Take a look at either our 39-069 or 39-070 and pick the one that matches you size. I think these could work as replacements for this old hardware. You should also consider the 39-170 sash bracket, since I'm not sure if your current one will match up to the newer operators.

Take note you will likely have to retro fit these to your window. Specifically, you might need to replace the sill trim cover to accommodate the newer operator shape. I had to replace some of these older operators once upon a time and found that I had to add some wood trim to move the operator away from the sash in order to close the window properly. Your experience may not be the same as mine, but be prepared for something similar.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the suggestions. I ordered the 39-070 as it is a dual pull. Seems to look like it matches up better. I figured that I may have to update the wood sill cover. Not a big deal as I've some some wood working. Should I send you an update when I get it installed...?
Thanks John

Great, sounds like you have everything covered! An update would be great, actually. It would be a huge help to other home owners with this operator.
