New Balance not Fitting

Good Morning

I just bought some balances from Swisco that were not exactly right for my windows. Order number 2147857.

Pictures are top of window channel with a balance I just bought. There is a "stop" at the top of the window which prevent bottom of balance or shoe from locking in at the bottom. It sticks out at the bottom so the window does not latch.

All the balances in this house need replacing. I only order 4 to start thankfully.

Some of the old broken balances were 2320s and I can install one side by sliding the window over to get past the stop. But then the remaining side still sticks out at the bottom.

I need some advice on ordering the right balances.

What I am calling a"stop" is the edge of a tapered piece. I may have a wrong top fitting.

I'm not too sure what the culprit could be here just yet so I'd like more information. Can you remove an original undamaged balance from the window and show us some photos?

Here are photos of my windows and a balance from one window. The window has a metal balance top guide. The balance I have is marked 2320. I am not sure the previous owner installed the proper balances. It appears to me the balance should be an inch shorter. The metal part on their balance is 24 inches. But it sticks out at the bottom almost an inch if my positioning is correct.
Your thoughts?

The balance in your initial photos isn't the same as the one shown in your new photos. If what I see here is the original balance then you would want either the Series 380 or Series 385 depending on the depth of the bottom fitting. You'll need to measure as shown below to determine which Series is best. I also recommend checking an identical window in the house to make sure it has the same type of balance as the original ones shown here.

To figure out the proper length, you would measure the height of the visible glass and add 1". For example, if your visible glass height is 15" then you'd pick a 16" balance.
