New Castle Triple Double Hung Windows from 2008 - Top Sash is Stuck and One Pivot Bar is Broken

Quick Learner from NC

Hi,

We have a 3 in one vinyl window that we purchased and was installed back in 2008.

The Label on the Window is "MI Windows & Doors 11190947.1" though the receipt which we still have states a "New Castle Triple Double Hung Window".

I've been in contact w/ MI Windows & Doors and they suggested that I contact you.

The Leftmost of the 3 windows' Top Sash is stuck. It won't move up and down nor tilt. And it turns out the Metal Pivot Bar on the left side is broken.

The pictures attached show the broken pivot bar and then two other pivot bars from one of the other sashes. The grid paper is 4x4 boxes per inch.

I'd greatly appreciate it if you can figure out the pivot bar that we would need to replace. And if you can offer any insights as to how to try removing the sash. We were successful in removing the other sashes, removing dirt and replacing them but this sash will not budge.

Thanks so very much,

Joe

Hi Joe,

The pivot bar you have here is an older discontinued Certainteed pivot bar. To replace it we suggest using the 26-175 CertainTeed Pivot Bar, Pair. To confirm that these will be a fit be sure to take a look at the dimensions.

Be sure to take a look at our video tutorial for a detailed explanation.
