New Channel Balance

A quick learner from Ormond Beach, Florida says:
We have several windows that are extremely hard to open. From your site we believe we need Channel Balance number S385-35 with bottom shoe15-004 and top 19-005. The photo of the existing part also has numbers on it. 34 5 GW CMC 11. The balance is 35" long. Can you verify this is the correct part we need. I have no way to weigh the sash at the moment so am hoping these numbers will help with that.

I agree, our S385-35 looks like a good match. Regarding the spring strength, a stamp of 34 5 usually corresponds to our 3450. This is for sashes weighing 30 through 34 pounds. If the windows are hard to open, it may mean that the 3450 rating that you have now is too strong. I'm afraid the only way to confirm is to weigh your sash on a scale.
